Geist Reservoir is a man made lake east of Indianapolis. A prominent area for beautiful custom homes in the cities of Fishers, McCordsville, Lawrence and Fortville. Geist Reservoir was named after Clarence H. Geist, a former owner of the Indianapolis Water Company, who foresaw a deficit in Indianapolis's water supply and envisioned the Geist Reservoir to preemptively address the problem. The lake is open to the public for water sport activities all year around. Geist also holds restaurants and shops on and around the reservoir for an endless amount of entertainment.
